Gymanfa Ganu – Welsh Hymn Sing

November 12 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

You are invited to celebrate the beautiful hymn-singing tradition of Wales at the 59th Annual Gymanfa Ganu at the United Presbyterian Church, 6750 PA Route 873, Slatington, PA on Sunday, November 12, 2017 beginning at 2:30 p.m.

You do not have to know Welsh to participate in the Gymanfa Ganu! Most of the hymns are sung in English, although we do try to sing a few verses in Welsh, and have fun doing it.

This year’s program will feature Mr. Ellis Williams of Bangor, PA as conductor of the program. Mr. Robert Miller of South Portland, ME will play the organ.  Our pianist will be Mrs. Anna Mary Milot, Choir Director/Organist of UPC Slatington. The featured musical group will be the “Tri-Cees Chorale” from Lehigh Carbon Community College, directed by Dr. David McConnell.

The hymn sing will be followed by a “Te Bach,” (a Welsh tea) during which we will share home baked Welsh tea breads as well as other refreshments. A free will offering will be gratefully accepted.

As they say in Welsh, “Deuwch, Canwin I’r Arglwydd” . . .  Come, sing to the Lord!
